Sejarah vs History

How many of us actually have time to read blogs dis time of the year? LoL.

History is really quite confusing. People often manipulate the facts in their words so that the results will seem appealing to the audience. And I'm not saying what I have here are facts. They are just for mere reading pleasure ^_^

Anyways, I was doing some searching in wikipedia n found something like this:

Orang Asli in Malaysia.
They are divided into three main tribal groups – Semang (negrito), Senoi, and Proto-Malay (Aboriginal Malay).

I remembered studying about a certain group calling themselves BUMIPUTRA. One of their early ancestors was a refugee from Palembang... Hmm sound familiar... Bt i cant seem to remember d name~~ XD They just happened to arrive some centuries before other immigrants and they claim they are the rightful owners of the land. They CLAIM they have the same RIGHTS as the REAL aborigines. Cute. After they got what they wanted from the Brits, the REAL aborigines one the other hand, were (and are still) the ones who remained poor and uncivilised

What more, If you've learnt sejarah, you should have come across the assasination of J.W.W. Birch. The Malaysian History description was: JWW Birch dibunuh kerana mempermainkan adat-istiadat tempatan dan menghapuskan sistem sosial melayu.

THIS IS THEIR "SISTEM SOSIAL":

Slave raids into Orang Asli settlements were quite common feature back in the 18th and 19th centuries. These slave-raiders were mainly local Malays and Bataks, who considered the Orang Asli as 'kafirs', 'non-humans', 'savages' and 'jungle-beasts.' The modus operandi was basically to swoop down a settlement and then kill off all the adult men. Women and children were captured alive as they are 'easier to tame.' The captives Orang Asli slaves were sold off or given to local rulers and chieftains to gain their favour. Slaves trade soon developed and even continued into the present century despite the official abolition of all forms of slavery in 1884. The derogatory term sakai is used to refer to the Orang Asli until the middle of the 20th century meant slave or dependent. Many of the elders Orang Asli still remember this sad period of their history, and they detest being called Sakai.

DATO' MAHARAJALELA, supposedly the hero of Perak, was a local cheif involved in SLAVE-TRADE. He did the things mentioned above for a living. Sounds HEROIC enuf ^_^ JWW Birch outlawed slavery in Perak and gets killed by a mob of SLAVE-TRADERS.

He was merely defending helpless people who were treated like animals by the pig-heads.

Are these HEROES any different from CONQUISTADORES who crushed the Inca n Mayan n made them slaves? Are they different from the COLONISTS who invaded Afica and made Africans slaves? And they have the face to call themselves "the rightful owner of this land".

On second though... They ARE different... Technology wise. People were already using gunpowder when they were fidling wif keris, blow-pipes and lembings. Malaysia Boleh~~

Whats more.. They associate themselves with the middle-eastern civilisations. MY FOOT. MELACAN EMPIRE WAS NO WHERE NEAR THE GLORY OF THOSE MUSLIM EMPIRES IN THE ARAB. THE ARABS, i.e. SALADIN, WERE THE ONES WHO FENDED OFF THE CRUSADES AND FOUGHT THE ARMY OF COMBINED EUROPEAN NATIONS. THE OTTOMAN TURK WAS THE LARGEST AND LONGEST LASTING MUSLIM EMPIRE. THEY EVEN FOUGHT IN WORLD-WAR I.

They just fled... helplessly... when the Portugese came. They were thrown around like used toy by the Portugese n Brits n Dutches. When the Japs came, SOME GUY from KMM (Kesatuan Melayu Muda) yea the guy whose picture makes his big nose look hideously artificial, became the Japs' lapdog. Hehe jz because they have one thing in common with the arabs (who were descendants of legendary civilisations), they think they can save their own face and make themselves look great by kissing some people's ass in their History Textbooks.

ahem~~

Anyways, mysterious term "sakai" tat we once adored in our childhood and used to mock each other... I guess u noe wad it means now eh??
